Northwest Desert Classic Tournament

12/30/2008 Last year the girls varsity took 12th place out of 12 teams. This year they took 9th and finished extremely strong. We were able to play the Champion, Seton Catholic, 3rd place PRCA, 6th place Sabino, and 7th place Rio Rico, playing mostly 4A teams. The Desert Christian girls ended the Northwest Desert Classic at 2-4. The team fell short against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy (17-35), Seton Catholic High (22-61), Sabino (17-40), and Rio Rico (24-28) in Friday and Saturday pool play games. JV Girls Finish Strong Against PRCA!
12/19/2008 The JV girls have broken the 17 game losing streak against Pusch Ridge, ending the game 28-26. Coach Cray said, "this is the first time the sophomores have ever beaten PRCA ... even in middle school."
The team started out like a swarm of bees, pulling ahead 8-0 in the first few minutes of the game. Karly Kennedy found the net every time she shot, making 6 of the first 8 points.

Lady Eagles Soar in 1st Home Games. Varsity and JV both held tough!
12/15/2008 The Lady Eagle Varsity Girls came away victorious 26-21 against Bisbee last night in OT! Coach Harting said after the game, "We were focused and it showed. We took the lead right off the bat and shut them out in the first quarter (8-0). And this is against a team that was averaging 44 points a game! We had good dribble-drive which got us onto the free throw line, we kept our own fouls down and our defensive rebounding was tough."
